Alexandra Halatsis
Alexandra Halatsis is a Printed Textiles Designer specialising in Haute Couture and RTW womenswear fashion. Aiming to create unique luxe designs with a heavy focus on art, colour, nature and historical narratives.
Pre-Raphaelite Reverie is an SS21 Couture collection focusing on a dreamy ethereal aesthetic to evoke the essence of Pre-Raphaelite art. The concept was initially influenced by further looking at the Pre-Raphaelites through their poetry which suggested how they wanted their work to be depicted in a romanticised, almost majestic, way. Focusing on art, nature and the beauty of it as well as storytelling in order to capture a dream-like aesthetic. The collection primarily consists of silks including organza, tulle and satin with couture techniques used to add elegance and opulence to the print designs. With the garments being inspired by those depicted within Pre-Raphaelite art and so the wearer is the woman portrayed within the paintings. Upon graduating, Alexandra aims to pursue a career in fashion and print design.
