Elspeth Pears
Specialising in woven textiles, I have a strong eye for colour and texture.
With planes being a high contributor to the environmental issues on the planet at the moment, I have aimed to encourage another mode of transport which has significantly less negative impacts on the environment. Focusing on those passengers who normally travel in luxury, I have shown that sleeper trains can be luxurious and give those passengers the privacy and sense of calmness that they desire. Neutral colours combined with rich luxury accent tones have helped me create a sophisticated and high end range of woven fabrics, which are timeless. My hand woven designs include 100% silk which I have carefully hand dyed to match my desired colour palatte. Each woven design was carefully planned to consider placement, texture and interesting colour combinations.
