Linen tucks
Linen with half circle cut out tucks revealing delicate, gold foiling speckled highlights.
Clay tiles
Clay tiles with textural horizontal highlights. Texture made from imprinting with a naturally eroded stone evokes a raw surface to contrast the smooth.
Velvet with gold foiling highlights
Velvet cut and re-positioned against the grain of the fabric to encourage the different depths found within the makeup of the pile to be shown. Highlights of gold foiling accentuates the variant rich tones and hues.
Layered leather
Layered walnut leather influenced by the uppermost part of buildings positioned within the city of Paris.
Plaster tiles
Gold leaf highlights embedded within plaster tiles, symbolising the natural beauty that comes with exterior degradation within cities.
Ombré embroidered cording on recycled cotton canvas
Cording embroidered with an ombré array of blues, modernising traditional exterior mouldings with cleaner, yet fluid, lines.
Wall-covering print
Visualised within a luxurious hotel setting, this statement tan and light blue print offers a stark contrast between a controlled and loose design, mimicking soft yet worn edges found within Parisian architecture.
Wall-covering print
Visualised behind naturally broken marble and stone pieces, this harsh structured print softened with light blue and cream hues visually offers a modern balance of a strong yet soft design.
Rebecca Redit
Exploring the controlled juxtaposition between the traditional and new of Paris through multi media, surface design.
A unique juxtaposition between Parisian architecture and modern developments. Re-discovering ‘The Real Paris’ through the means of appreciating the old and highlighting it with new. Honouring the traditional Parisian exterior style within a soft, surface textual way. By understanding the way that traditional Parisian interior designers use natural found materials to accentuate pre-existing design, enabling the thorough appreciation and knowledge of the ‘Real Paris’. Acknowledging the natural colours of the city, Paris has a very elegant array of soft blues and raw beige's mixed with rich hints of gold, warming tan and singed walnut browns.
The city values historical design yet adores to push the boundaries with modern features. This playful, yet eclectic design mix gives the city of Paris a design driven yet traditional appreciation feel.
This collection gives appreciation to the old whilst modernising it to feel fresh, new and inspiring.
