Through the bamboo
Lilypad tables
Tables designed and produced using sustainable plywood. Painted with inspiration from tribal and natural forms of the jungle.
Coral jungle
A loosely drawn jungle scene. Designed to be screen printed on organic cotton.
Abstract leaves
Produced by digitally colouring a zoomed in painting of leaves from the jungle.
Tropical scenery
A painting using all of my colour palette. Designed to be a large scale wall mural.
Jungles botanical
A loose drawing of jungle botanicals with tribal mark making. Digitally coloured, aimed to be a large scale screen print on cotton.
The woven forest
Inspiration taken from the amazon tribes. Designed through paper weaves and editing a drawing into sections digitally. Aimed to be a prototype of what would be made from recycled materials to be upholstered.
Alice Purling
Alice has been influenced by colour, pattern and nature throughout her time at Loughborough University. Expressing her creativity with a graphic and illustrative hand to produce both screen printed and digitally printed designs. Her designs have resulted in both fashion and interior outcomes.
'Precious Paradise' is an interior collection made to celebrate the beauty of the amazon rainforest. A new study suggests the Amazon rainforests ecosystem could collapse very rapidly in only 50 years. Her conscious designs fits a summer collection to reflect the magnificent nature of the rainforest, showcasing the importance of it. Alice is passionate about sustainable solutions. Using recycled, vegan materials to screen print onto. Imagery is taken from tropical plants, landscapes but also tribal references from research into the Amazon. Following a placement year working for five different companies, Alice intends to expand upon her skills attained throughout her degree as a print designer.
