Anis Shahirah Khor Mohd Kamal Khor

I am a photoshop enthusiast, working on the modern consumerism system and the continuous exploration on finding our identity.

Working with mundane and mass produced objects, I experiment with the external visual hoping to give them a personality. By manipulating and repeating the images, it conveys a sense of claustrophobia and allows the viewers to be confronted with their relationship to the subject. Using my own possessions, the pieces I create are personal to me as I start to value the things that I used to take for granted. The main characteristics of my works are the shapes and colours as they give out a sense of rhythm and freedom.

Experience

On August 2019, I interned as a Graphic Designer for two months at Sunway Money, which is an online remittance service in Malaysia. During this programme, I designed visuals and communicated with clients online through Instagram and Facebook. Additionally, my job required to promote and engage potential customers to increase the company's client base by working a booth. I had the privilege to collaborate with Sunway Travels and also work alongside the IT team to create designs for the upcoming phone application. I learned to become more flexible by working on projects that were not within my expertise and enhanced my oral communication skills by pitching ideas to clients in Sunway. This also assisted with my learning to become more comfortable with new environments.
