Charlotte Silk
Charlotte is a printed textile student who aims to express the poetic and dreamlike curiosities of the natural world through her storytelling. She explores a mix of hand rendered intricate drawing techniques, combined with digital manipulation to create enchanting surfaces that reflect themes of distortion and transformation; suitable for a luxury womenswear application.
Her spring/summer 2021 collection ‘Ephemeral Beauty’ is influenced by the Greek myth of Demeter and Persephone which provides a story behind the changing of seasons. Emphasising the beauty in the rebirth of spring, the collection intertwines a romantic spirit and dreamlike innocence with an empowering sense of strength to celebrate all aspects of femininity. Charlotte wishes to translate the intricate details of her subject matter in the depth of her illustrations, and seeks innovation within her designs through the integration of digital elements; creating transformative surfaces that evolve as you look closer and discover new elements. Charlotte wishes to follow her passion in crafting luxury designs and pursue a career in fashion and print design.
