Tränenpalast Museum mural (2/4)
Illustrations for the Tränenpalast Museum, a former border crossing in Berlin. Following the true story of Leslie and Ingrid Colitt who were separated when the Berlin wall was created, these illustrations reflect the journey they took to smuggle Ingrid from East to West Berlin. Site specific, these murals and have been incorporated into the museum’s existing branding, bringing to life the focus of the museum: the tales of the ordinary people that make Berlin what it is today.

The Lost Legends app concept
The Lost Legends app is aimed at children aged 8-10, a generation where traditional folktales and heritage is becoming lost. These are often linked to location and heritage sites which families frequently visit.
This app creates a family activity, initiated by the children that allows them all to learn about the tales around them, keeping folklore alive.

Hazel Shorney
Specialising in illustration, I have developed a flexible handwriting that explores the use of both traditional and digital processes.
I believe that storytelling is at the heart of any design project. With experience focusing in branding, illustration and surface pattern design, I aim to maintain a flexible design approach that is trend driven and focuses on the target audience. I am particularly interested in how illustration can be used as a brand device to enhance the tone and brand image. I aim to explore this further in a studio setting that allows me to develop my broad skillset for a range of audiences and purposes.
