Alterra modular typography has been fragmented and used to gain attention of the viewer making them focus on what we are offering. Photography of the speakers has been used throughout but intentionally cropped in unusual angles to create interesting areas of negative space.

James Kiely

James Kiely is a designer specialising in visual identity, motion graphic design and 3d animation.

During the final year of the Visual Communication course, I began to specialise on projects which include visual identities, motion graphics and 3d animation. The work exhibited investigates themes of cultural history, environmental future, the creative economy, and developing innovative learning frameworks. My projects all have strong historical foundations allowing me to use my creative process to develop unique outcomes which conceptually ask questions of the viewers.

Experience

During my time with BURN I worked directly with the Creative Director on projects for clients such as the British Heart Foundation, Fisher-Price, Kind, Reactive Technologies and Pipedrive, as both a visual designer and conceptual developer. While working with existing brands, I gained experience working to guidelines both extensive and limited. These projects allowed me to develop skills within animation and storytelling, while working on live briefs making me learn faster with the guidance from senior designers and animators which broadened my skill set. I produced work with the following outcomes; branding, animation, social media, UI/UX, CRM, while also developing my strategic design thinking and presentation skills.
