Printed text on paper, 2020

Kate Freckelton

My practice engages with language and form as material, to visually embody the editing and reduction of self.

Originating in the intuitive editing of my own writing into fragments, my work utilises ambiguous content and minimal aesthetics to convey notions of concealment. I explore the relationship between my own expression and its reception during the viewing experience. I challenge the viewer by obscuring the text, either by visual means or in terms of its editing.
