Katie Lewis

Katie is a Textiles: Innovation and Design graduate who specialised in woven textiles. Her final collection consists of a biodegradable collection of fabric suitable for outerwear, with a focus on adaptability and durability.

By 2050 it has been estimated across the world; droughts will have intensified, extreme heat will have become a fact of life for 1.6 billion city dwellers, floods and sea levels will have risen effecting 150 million people and hurricanes will be 300% more powerful. Climate patterns is adaptable and durable outerwear collection which has been inspired by the Eden Project with the contrast of environments between the biomes, going from the rainforest to the Mediterranean. This collection explores our potential climate and how it may change from what we know today. Creating a collection of futuristic fabrics which combine design with function, challenging how we can become sustainable, helping to addresses the issues of our changing climate.
