As a young contemporary artist I use drawing to express values of human identity and portraiture.
My work has been largely triggered from reading Gaston Bachelard’s; ‘Poetics of Space’, (1958). The figurative drawings are influenced by the theme of; ‘Presence’. A term used to define the narrative of these drawings. The process which I undergo to create the drawings depends upon the balance between positive and negative space presented by paper. They are intimate works and attempt to express a pacified state of mind.
