Nour Abosaif

I am a digital designer with an interest in creating digital products and social campaigns that are tailored towards facilitating human connection and fulfilling community needs.

UX is embedded in my creative thought process. When designing, I think strategically to create both functional and aesthetically pleasing design. My work is motivated by a combination of user insight, technology, logic and art. I am able to view the bigger picture whilst simultaneously being attentive to details, allowing me to create strong ideas with strong executions. My experience as a third culture kid inspires and aids my desire to create. Having grown up in multicultural environments, I have a strong understanding of, and am able to connect with, a diverse range of people. This allows me to notice how design can be applied to make a positive difference within various communities, as I approach them with an open, analytical and creative mind. My technical design skills are diverse and rich, as I am comfortable with all adobe creative suite programs, using them to create a range of products including still design, motion graphics and prototypes. The technique I use for a project is very much dependent on what will work best for the target audience. My career aim is to design for human connection, as I work my way to becoming an art director.

Experience

I completed my placement year working at Sony Electronics as a Graphic designer in the online marketing team. I created content for all of Sony’s online platforms, whilst staying true to Sony’s brand identity. I planned and executed creative projects such as seasonal website banners, tutorial animations and infographics. I also utilised and developed my leadership and collaborative skills as I communicated with product managers from various departments to produce marketing material that successfully showcased the product’s features. Sony has a wide array of target consumers varying from photographers to gamers to music lovers, it was therefore essential for me to always considered the end user when designing.

During my time at Loughborough University, I held varying positions of responsibility within the student's union and their societies. In my final year, I was the Media and Communication Officer for both the Ethnic Minorities Network, and Arab Society. I was also President of the Arab Society and Head of Graphic Design for the LSUTV. These roles allowed me to combine my creative skills with my passion for designing to facilitate human connection, particularly for marginalised groups.
